An artist from Leesburg, Georgia, who lives and works in Knoxville, Tennessee, I have shown nationally and internationally in many individual, group, and juried exhibitions. I studied art at Valdosta State University, in Georgia, and received a B.F.A. in 2000. I was awarded a graduate assistantship to teach and paint in the painting and drawing department at the University of Tennessee, where I graduated with a Masters of Fine Art in 2003. I have taught for the University of Tennessee, and now teach through the Professional and Personal development program, Mighty Mud Studios, as well as tutoring private lessons.

As a cathartic painter, my work expresses emotions and frustrations that would otherwise be hard to express verbally. They seem abstract at first glance to the viewer, but have some sense of childhood imagery disguised among the colorful layers. My work is fresh with vibrant lively colors, as well as layered metaphors of myself and others contrasted with the chaotic approach of the energetic marks.
